Police have shot a man at New Orleans international airport after he attacked security workers and passengers on Friday.
The man, who is being named as Richard White, sprayed wasp killer at a member of airport security staff before pulling out a large machete.
Sheriff Newell Normand from New Orleans' Jefferson Parish said that it was still unclear whether the 62-year-old was a traveller.
